Luca De Filippis met music at a young age thanks to Maestro Giacomo Mezzalira who encouraged him to start studying a wind instrument.
In Bergamo he studied the clarinet as a teenager and then almost immediately moved on to the saxophone, the instrument with which he graduated from the Liceo Musicale “V. Gambara” of Brescia under the guidance of Maestro Guido Consoli. His studies continue in Milan, at the “G. Verdi” Conservatory, where he studied and graduated under the guidance of Maestro Mario Marzi, an important Italian saxophonist.
He has participated in many masterclasses and studied with several saxophone masters including, to name a few, Asya Fateyeva, Philippe Geiss, Nobuya Sugawa, Claude Delangle, Enrique Portovedo, Marco Gerboni and Daniel Gauthier.
He has won numerous national and international competitions (including “Scuole in musica” of Verona, “Milano City”, “Regina Esperia” of Como, “Franco Margola” of Brescia)from 2016 to today, as a soloist and in chamber music.
Alongside his solo activity, which sees him perform at important Italian and international festivals and locations, he also teaches throughout northern Italy.
From a young age he develops a predilection for composition, which he has been studying since 2017 with several masters, first among them Maestro Claudio Mandonico. Subsequently, while attending the Milan Conservatory, he had the opportunity to study with important figures on the Italian scene such as Paolo Tortiglione, Mario Garuti and Giovanni Grosskopf. In the same period he follows some lessons and masterclasses related to the world of composition for images and videogames.
